Nuturing the Practice of Yoga with Kindness and Compassion

I was working as an accountant when I attended my first yoga class in 2013. I was going through a period of high anxiety and although I tried yoga for the physical benefits, I found it very calming. For an hour I was able to put my anxiety aside and concentrate on movement. And then I began to get stronger. After retiring in 2020, I attended the teacher training at Southern Lotus Yoga and received my teaching certificate in January 2022. 


Yoga began as a way to stay strong, healthy and combat aging. After my training, it has become the way I want to live my life, on and off the mat. I love that everyone can practice yoga, no matter their skill level. Each practice is different for each person. They only have to show up to the mat.
